About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Human Resources (DHR) - Army Substance Abuse Program Division (ASAP) on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Serves as the Installation Prevention Team's subject matter expert concerning soldier use of alcohol and other drugs. Administers or assists in administration of the RRP Unit Risk Inventory at the request of commanders and incorporates results into the design of an intervention and training package for the unit. Responsible for collecting, consolidating, and readying quarterly feeder reports from designated installation staff sections to identify, track and analyze high-risk behaviors for the military installation. Utilizes skills in qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to identify, analyze, and develop courses of action and recommendations to mitigate high-risk behaviors.

Basic Requirement for Risk Reduction Program Coordinator: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as social work, psychology, etc. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Prepare and present briefings to managers and facilitating work groups; 2) Conducting surveys and assisting in the development of policies and procedures; and 3) Assess high-risk behavior and use of drugs or alcohol in the unit. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationProblem SolvingTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50 that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package.
