About the Position: This position is located with Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation- Army Community Services (ACS), Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Design, coordinate and instruct workshops and seminars on job skills such as resume writing, interviewing, salary negotiation, networking and achieving a professional image for military spouses and family members. Write and publish marketing and educational materials on employment and career trends and education/certification programs of various occupations. Plan and execute employment events such as job fairs and seminars for military spouses and family members. Interview, counsel and advise on career, occupational, volunteer and educational needs, goals, opportunities and concerns. Brief commanders, installation leadership, and Army Community Services (ACS) Director to keep them abreast of local and national employment trends and employment demographics for spouses and family members of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Develop employment related marketing and educational materials; AND 2) Conduct employment workshops; or 3) Interview individuals to determine employment needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50 that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. You must meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.
