About the Position: This Security Specialist GS-0080-11 position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, Executive Office with a duty station location of Fort Worth, TX.
Duties
Develop, plan, direct, and coordinate the implementation of overall SWF policies and procedures for the protection of government property, equipment, supplies, and materials in accordance with AR 190-13, The Army Physical Security Program.
Review physical security plans prepared by the district, giving guidance and advice to minimize loss or damage from theft, espionage, sabotage and other criminal or disruptive activities.
Plan, direct, and coordinate the implementation of overall SWF policies and procedures for Antiterrorism and Force Protection (AT/FP) in accordance with AR 525-13, Antiterrorism.
Maintain liaison with local law enforcement agencies, Joint Terrorism Task Forces JTTF, USACIDC, and 902nd MI Command to ensure AT/FP protective measures are implemented in relation to local threat conditions.
Manage the OPSEC Program that identifies critical information, analyzes threats and vulnerabilities, assesses risk, and applies appropriate countermeasures to protect the critical information.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- May travel Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel is required up to 20% of the time.
- Incumbent must be willing to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment, this includes a background investigation and credit check.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing physical security inspections of an organization's properties and operations; AND 2) Developing risk assessments.; AND 3) Conducting all security related trainings and/or briefings.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Security Management, Criminal Justice, Police Science, and Administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
