You will serve as the Command Security Manager/Special Security Officer (SSO) and principal security advisor to the Commander, Naval Information Force Reserve (CNIFR), as well as the authoritative Force SSO for Commander, Naval Reserve Force (CNRF) and Commander Naval Air Reserve Force (CNARF). This position is located in COMNAVINTRESCOM.
Duties
You will perform complex tasks involving the development, evaluation, and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and trainings.
You will establish and enforce security policies, guidance, and procedures; and provide subject-matter expert advice regarding personnel, security, physical and operational security.
You will supervise Naval Reserve Special Security Officers and Representatives in the interpretation and implementation of new procedures, directions or changes in national or
agency policies.
You will supervise subordinates in the performance of tasks associated with the development,
evaluation, implementation, or execution of information security programs.
You will serve as the principal liaison with the base security personnel, community managers,
local and Federal law enforcement personnel for the security of the facility and any activities or events conducted by the Commander.
You will brief and provide guidance/input for the Commander on all security related matters.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
- This position may require a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement.
- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as:
Develop and Implement policies and procedures for Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), and Operational Security (OPSEC) matters;
Inspect and assess security programs and supervise the efforts and professional development of assigned security managers, security assistants, special security officers, and special security representatives;
Oversee personnel security, to include personnel security investigations in Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP), record security clearance and access information in Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS);
Develop policies and procedures to ensure proper handling and storage of classified information and materials.
