Duties
Identifies problem areas and recommends actions and taskings to improve operations, correct deficiencies, and prevent the future occurrence of problems.
Provides analysis in the areas of work counts, work years, productivity, manpower, budget formulation, unit cost and budget execution.
Performs analysis on complex financial problems within the directorate and prepares staff papers to support recommendations, solutions, and taskings.
Develops recommendations involving substantive impacts on policies, procedures, systems, and operations of the mission area/product and DFAS.
Coordinates and submits the work count and budget formulation submissions for Directorate/ mission areas.
Monitors a variety of financial management and statistical trends and prepares appropriate analytical reports for the mission area/product line manager on cost, status of funds, expenses and obligations.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience with financial management and accounting systems, policies, procedures, and practices that directly support operations and other resource management systems to prepare management reports; detailed knowledge and understanding of governing budgetary policies, and experience performing analysis in the areas of work counts, work years, productivity, manpower, budget formulation, unit cost, and budget execution.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
