This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight.
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, you will conduct policy analysis and program operations related to the provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) which pertain to eligibility for coverage through the Marketplaces, and to eligibility for financial assistance.
Duties
Serving as the Division Director with responsibilities directing, managing, and accomplishing the goals and objectives of the organization.
Developing issues papers and other briefing materials and advising high-level decisionmakers and management
officials regarding accreditation organization applications, regulations, and policies interpreting regulations.
Overseeing data sharing with States, Marketplaces, and other Federal agencies.
Developing and implementing business processes and requirements for the design and development of systems interfaces associated with a streamlined eligibility and enrollment process.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Providing technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders on Marketplace eligibility-related business processes and Marketplace eligibility operations; 2) Developing and analyzing policy guidelines, program, and operational activities related to Marketplace eligibility and enrollment functions; and 3) Planning, organizing or assessing work activities for subordinate employees.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
