Duties
Serves as Senior Logistics Management Specialist, Deployment Support Branch, Agency Synchronization Operations Center (ASOC), answering to the Chief of Current Operations on all operational and administrative matters.
Serves as the Agency’s policy and action officer, representing all facets of DLA personnel deployment support for planning and operations in the joint community.
Develops detailed Agency Deliberate Plans which specify policy and procedures by which DLA provides logistics manning support to Combatant Commands (CCMD) and Components, Services, Defense and Federal Agencies.
Provides program expertise to strategic and operational planning operations within the Agency, with a DLA Support Team Enterprise approach for detection/resolution of issues, monitoring training, and the development/implementation of Agency policy.
Serves as a principal advisor to Deployment Support Chief and the Chief of Agency Synchronization Operations Center on matters and budgetary issues related to civilian and military personnel deployment operations.
Undertakes the following Team Lead authorities/responsibilities: Plans work, set and adjust short-term priorities, prepare project schedules, and assigns qualified personnel to deployment rotations.

- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position. The incumbent may be required to report to work in the event of a natural disaster, inclement weather, or crisis.
- You will be a Mission Essential employee. This requires you to work during an emergency to ensure continuation of essential functions. You may be required to work at the designated duty location, a telework site, or an alternate location/facility.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Provides program expertise to assist in strategic and operational planning of operations.
Makes recommendations on military logistics and budgetary matters pertaining to Agency theater deployment operations in support of the Combatant Commands.
Manages, coordinates, assigns, and delegates pre and post-deployment preparations.
Releases requirements associated with all civilian and military actions required to source directed missions.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
