Duties
You will serve as General Supply Specialist responsible for planning, coordinating, and providing guidance and support on matters relative to Class I, subsistence, and food service supply functions.
You will analyze, coordinate, investigate, research, and resolve supply problems impacting readiness.
You will ensure that Class I, subsistence, and food service supply program functions assigned to the AFSBn operate effectively, meet materiel readiness objectives and are responsive to customer needs.
You will develop, recommend and plan courses of action that institute or refer to higher level's correction of material weaknesses and/or resolution of unique and complex supply issues.
You will monitor the development and progress of numerous initiatives and identifies the cause of delays, if any, and the impact of the delays to other associated logistical systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 20% of the time. Travel may include site visits to stateside and overseas locations.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain any food service safety certifications required by TB MED 530-Tri Serviced Food Code and Army Regulation 30-22 Army Food Program.
- Must have or able to obtain and maintain the Food Service Management certification.
- Lifting of moderately heavy objects is sometimes required – up to 50 lbs.
- Designated Mission Essential Position: Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.
- May be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty. Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes use of automated supply databases for supply and inventory management; knowledge of a wide range of commonly applied supply principles, concepts, and methodologies in support of logistics and food service programs; provide administrative and technical support over the food service supply programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
