Duties
As a Program Specialist you will:
Assist in the preparation, review and coordination of information, decision documents, special reports, and other programmatic documents.
Review these documents and reports for adherence to CDC and DHHS policy and provides interpretive guidance in the application of such rules and regulations.
Maintain and monitor project tracking and reporting systems in order to develop status reports and response materials for the senior management for higher level attention, review or signature.
Coordinate schedules, agendas, and action items for key groups.
Track Reasonable Accommodation requests and keeps the Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator apprised of time limits and proper documentation.
Design, develop, and deliver a variety of training and continuous skills improvement programs in such areas as: equal opportunity, sexual harassment, reasonable accommodation, mediation, conflict resolution, and team building.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: analyzing and evaluating the administrative processes and programs of an office, and skill in developing, planning, organizing, and conducting studies of effectiveness and productivity of CDC organizations or programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
