About the Position: This position is with the Office of the Chief of Army Reserve, G-35 (Plans), located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Duties

Conduct strategic reviews and assessments to identify and preserve key Army Reserve (AR) equities. Advise on Army Reserve contributions or capabilities in support of the national defense strategy. Prepare briefings or papers for Army Reserve Senior Leaders, to include the Chief of the Army Reserve (CAR), Assistant CAR, and Deputy CAR, to present and participate in strategic forums. Provide direction and decision authority over the Army Reserve integration and input to the Army Campaign Plan. Supervise, review, and evaluate the daily operations of military and civilian personnel assigned to the Directorate.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service which includes experience in strategic and operational planning; conducting course of action analysis and strategic assessments; and advising senior leaders on a variety of strategic plans or policies such as National Military Strategy/National Defense Strategy (NMS/NDS), Program Objective Memorandum Planning (POM Planning), Army Strategic Planning Guidance (ASPG), or Army Campaign Plan (ACP). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Managing Human ResourcesPlanning and EvaluatingStrategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
