You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN LEADER in the Shop 31 of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will determine placement of electrical distribution panels and other equipment. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical equipment, systems, generators, switchboards, or control equipment in a shipyard environment. You will use theoretical practices of the trade to repair faulty electrical equipment or systems on nuclear ships. You will operate power tools (e.g., pipe benders, cutters, power drills) to cut, bend, fit, and thread components of electrical equipment and systems. You will use hand tools and test equipment to check alignment, output, or resistance to ground and other electrical characteristics. You will diagnose faulty electrical equipment or systems to determine rework or replacement of faulty components on nuclear ships alterations and repairs.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
