You will serve as a Safety Officer in the Business Operations Dept, Safety Office of NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA. This NT-05 position is equivalent to GS-13/14. This position's pay is capped at GS-13 step 10, $137,059. This position will be located in either Mayport, FL, or Mechanicsburg, PA. Salary: Mayport, FL: $86,962 - $158,860 Mechanicsburg, PA: $88,659 - $161,961

Duties

You will provide oversight of all OSHA programs, Explosive Safety, Radiological and weight handling programs in a warehouse and office environment at Mechanicsburg, and warehousing sites. You will evaluate and assess overall safety program compliance with all applicable policies and regulations. You will prepare and present complex, and technical oral/written communications to senior leadership, personnel, contractors, and regulatory agencies to deliver the results of investigations and recommendations for correction of deficiencies. You will perform the full range of supervisory duties for the Safety Branch to include hiring, professional development, disciplinary actions, rewarding, and evaluating performance.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to theNT-03 (GS-11/12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing policy or procedure updates for a program involving explosives to ensure the safety of the workforce.
