You will serve as an Administrative/Technical Specialist in the Disruptive Technologies Branch; Asymmetric Systems Division; Weapons Control & Integration Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. If selected, you will serve as a Security Specialist.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-05 is equivalent to GS-13/14.
This position is salary capped at GS-13 Step 10 (currently $153,354). See "Additional Information" section.
Duties
You will develop, administer and execute security procedures in support of classified programs within the Asymmetric Systems Division (H10).
You will implement physical security methods and precautions in accordance with defined security manuals and directives in a way to keep facility secure from unauthorized access.
You will provide security expertise to technical team and other facility users such as access control, media control, transmission/movement of classified and other functions to ensure a secure operating environment.
You will interpret various security regulations, manuals, instructions, and implement security policies or procedures in a way that securely protects information, materials and personnel.
You will serve as lead trainer on all security policies and procedures to scientists, engineers and staff on the proper use and execution of security procedures and policies.
You will conduct inquiries for breeches of security protocols or policies and provide written reports to cognizant security authority.
You will prepare personnel, facilities, and documentation in support of security inspections or inquiries.
You will conduct self-assessment of facility security policies, documentation, and physical security, as well as in preparation for annual security inspections by Program Office Security personnel.
You will provide customer service-type functions to assist staff in interpreting and implementing security practices, and in transmitting or transferring information or documents to other facilities.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating or implementing a security program for an organization. Examples of specialized experience may include: developing, updating, or implementing physical security, information security, or personnel security policies or procedures; advising management of security program requirements, deficiencies, or recommendations; ensuring compliance with information security program requirements to safeguard classified or sensitive information; conducting audits or inspections to evaluate the status of existing security programs.
