You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC LEADER in the MRO PROUDCTION GROUP of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will inspect, analyze, assess, and determine the condition of aircraft structural systems, sub-systems, and components.
You will disassemble, modify, repair, and assemble structural parts and aerodynamic surfaces on aircraft and aircraft components.
You will review aircraft and equipment logbooks, Scheduled Removal Cards (SRC), Accessory History Records (AHR), Equipment History Records (EHR), Visual Identification/Maintenance Action Forms (VIDS/MAFS), and other technical documents and records.
You will establish man-hour estimates for the over and above work and direct the procurement or repair of components/material. You will provide technical advice, guidance, and work direction to artisans.
You will distribute work to keep everyone in the crew productive and check work in progress and when finished to determine if proper work sequence procedures, methods, and deadlines were met.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

A. I have the ability to independently perform the most difficult and complex tasks as an expert or have been consulted by other employees in difficult situations performing duties including: 1) Disassembling, modifying, repairing, and assembling structural parts and aerodynamic surfaces on aircraft and aircraft components such as, wings, stabilators, tails, fuselages, access panels, and structural components that make up the assemblies; 2) Demonstrating proper work methods and techniques; 3) Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications, technical instructions, aircraft/engine logbooks, and technical directives; 4) Utilizing knowledge of the operating principles, functions, and technical orientation of aircraft structural systems, sub-systems, accessories, and components; 5) Using hand tools, power driven drill motors, air grinders, air sanders, cutting tools, and other floor shop equipment; 6) Ensuring that the product is re-worked within technical specifications and meets negotiated labor and material requirements by applying the most appropriate and effective inspection and assessment processes, methods and techniques; 7) Identifying and recording those tasks and discrepancies on aircraft systems, components, and accessories which are suitable for continued service without replacement, rework, or processing; and 8) Providing technical assistance to personnel working on overhaul/repair tasks.
B. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative including: 1) Disassembling, modifying, repairing, and assembling structural parts and aerodynamic surfaces on aircraft and aircraft components such as, wings, stabilators, tails, fuselages, access panels, and structural components that make up the assemblies; 2) Demonstrating proper work methods and techniques; 3) Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications, technical instructions, aircraft/engine logbooks, and technical directives; 4) Using hand tools, power driven drill motors, air grinders, air sanders, cutting tools, and other floor shop equipment; 5) Ensuring that the product is re-worked within technical specifications and meets negotiated labor and material requirements by applying the most appropriate and effective inspection and assessment processes, methods and techniques; and 6) Identifying and recording those tasks and discrepancies on aircraft systems, components, and accessories which are suitable for continued service without replacement, rework, or processing.
C. I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Disassembling, modifying, repairing, and assembling structural parts and aerodynamic surfaces on aircraft and aircraft components such as, wings, stabilators, tails, fuselages, access panels, and structural components that make up the assemblies; 2) Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications, technical instructions, aircraft/engine logbooks, and technical directives; 3) Using hand tools, power driven drill motors, air grinders, air sanders, cutting tools, and other floor shop equipment; and 4) Ensuring that the product is re-worked within technical specifications and meets negotiated labor and material requirements by applying the most appropriate and effective inspection and assessment processes, methods and techniques.
