The Architect of the Capitol, Office of Inspector General promotes efficiency and effectiveness to deter and prevent fraud, waste and abuse in AOC operations and programs. We do this through value-added, transparent and independent audits, evaluations and investigations. We strive to positively impact the Agency and the taxpayer while keeping Congress informed.

Duties

Office of Inspector General seeks three Management Program Analysts. OIG promotes efficiency and effectiveness to deter and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse.  Between three divisions, (Audit, Inspection & Evaluations, & Follow-up)

Requirements

  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • You must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Your resume and question responses must demonstrate the job-related KSAs.
  • You must meet the definition of specialized experience.

Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualifications Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions. It is available for your review on the OPM web site at http://www.opm.gov/qualifications. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-09 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes having 3 out of the 5 following: 1.) Researching laws, regulations, best practices, guidelines and policies and procedures. 2.) Conducting audits, inspections, evaluations, or compliance reviews on programs and/or operations of a federal or non-federal entity. 3.) Utilizing standard audit and/or evaluation techniques to assist others in audit work; (i.e. develop work papers, findings, and recommendations to sufficiently meet project objectives. 4.) Gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data to draw conclusions. 5.) Developing recommendations for improvements to management and program operations. Or You may substitute education for experience for this position.

Education

Your education must consist of a master’s or equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a LL.B. or J.D.

Education Degree Must be related to the duties of the position.

Combination of education and experience:  An equivalent combination of the specialized experience and the graduate-level education described above.
