About the Position: These positions will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) for the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), Fort Leavenworth, KS. NOTE: See "Other Information" section for more detailed information.

Duties

Establish and maintain office records required for the efficient operation of the office. Prepare requests and authorizations for Department of Defense (DoD) personnel business travel in Defense Travel System (DTS). Coordinate travel arrangements, to include travel orders, developing itineraries, scheduling appointments for passport and visa procurement, etc. Compute air fare, per diem, lodging costs, etc. for cost estimates requested by customers. Create and update operational schedules and maintaining long and short term calendars.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) is required up to 5%.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative office support to include: researching regulations, tracking task due dates, utilizing computer software programs to prepare reports, and reserving travel accommodations using an online system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
