About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W6EYAA US ARMY COMBAT CAPABILITIES DEV CMD.

Duties

Serves as Intelligence Specialist at the Major Subordinate Command (MSC) level, as a member of the Intelligence and Threat Support Team and as assistant and advisor to the command Intelligence and Threat Support Officer. Assists in development and oversight of command policies related to Threat Intelligence Support and Information Security Program. Performs research, analysis and publication of various scheduled and ad hoc Scientific and Technical Intelligence products. Assumes responsibility for the command Threat Dissemination System (TDS). Joins command-wide Integration Concepts Team (IPTs) as necessary to directly provide appropriate level of Scientific and Technical Intelligence and Threat Support. Works with Foreign Intelligence Officers (FIOs) throughout the command. Maintains awareness of Scientific and Technical Intelligence program requirements and recommends updates to command policies as required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
  • TDY will be required approximately 15% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Intelligence and threat support related to the security of the nationwide developing technology base. AND 2) Production of intelligence documents and briefings to meet the needs of supported programs and/or projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Intelligence and Threat Support (I&TS)Strategic ThinkingTechnical Credibility Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
