About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Forces Command, 20th CBRNE Command G2, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005.
Duties
Serves as a Senior Intelligence Specialist (Scientific and Technical) and Technical Intelligence Cell lead within the 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Command Intelligence and Security Section (G2).
Conducts all-source research, to include scientific and technical analysis of intelligence data on current and emerging CBRNE Threats and Programs.
Provides technical expertise in Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Programs; CBRNE weapons research, development and production cycles; adversary delivery methods and capabilities, strategy, employment, current and emerging threats and technologies.
Develops programs that integrate planning, coordinating, interpreting, or evaluating intelligence actions, production, collection and policies or assigned disciplines.
Focus on multi-discipline operations, intelligence, planning and programming of activities that support Army, Joint and Interagency mission partners.
Serves as a representative of the Command to National Intelligence Community, Technical and Interagency partner organizations and forums.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and/or irregular duty hours commensurate with mission requirements.
- May be required to perform temporary duty (TDY) travel 25% or more on an annual basis, based on mission and/or training requirements.
- May involve frequent visits and temporary duty at field sites as well as participation in military exercises in a variety of environments.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
