Duties
You will develop project requirements documents and directs the preparation of plans and specifications for new construction, alteration, maintenance and repair of various base/installation facility projects.
You will analyze and evaluate work order requests for repair, maintenance and construction submitted by base/installation agencies and tenants.
You will prepare construction/repair cost estimates for Command projects.
You will maintain liaison with contractors, suppliers, and manufacturer's representatives to obtain cost, capability, and other data.
You will coordinate, compile, and finalize specifications for a variety of projects in the Command.
You will participate as a team member in technical reviews for assigned projects.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NJ-2 (GS-8) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing engineering practical knowledge to review and correct architect-engineer specifications, ensuring projects meet design requirements and resource guidelines.

Education
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
- A master's or equivalent graduate degree with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; OR
- Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; OR
- A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
