Duties

Will serve as the Prevention Coordinator for the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) prevention and education services. Develop and administer an installation-wide ASAP prevention and education program to include goals, objectives, and milestones for the installation. Plan curriculum and directs the ASAP Training Program and campaigns as directed by the Army Center for Substance Abuse Programs (ACSAP) Prevention Coordinator Guidebook. Assist in the development of local on-going substance abuse prevention programs involving youth, parents, and other concerned adults from the surrounding civilian communities.

  • Must be able to perform up to 10% temporary duty (TDY) travel.

One-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience working with substance abuse programs related to alcohol and other drug abuse and prevention and education awareness issues and evaluating and analyzing data and statistics to generate reports. OR B. Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR C. Specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have more than two years but less than the required education in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your graduate semester hours by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR D. Have the experience as described in A AND the education described in B. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
