About the Position: This position is for the US Army Pacific, Mission Support Element Hawaii Command Group, located at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Duties

Responsible for the planning, execution/coordination and evaluation of prevention activities (policies, programs and practices), training, education, and outreach for sexual harassment and sexual assault. Analyze, assess, and clearly communicate program objectives, policies, operations, and resource data to ensure efficiency in the development and execution of the command?s SHARP-related prevention activities. Conduct environmental scans and determine the manner or type of needs assessment that is most appropriate. Identify efficiencies in primary prevention development and delivery. Use professional knowledge to support the command?s integrated prevention efforts to include planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes against sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Requires successful completion of OSD and/or Army-level prevention training course and completion of all requirements within 90 days of being in the position.
  • Position is Mission Essential.
  • Position requires working overtime on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Sharp Program Prevention Specialist (SAR WF): A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position such as couseling, social work, psychology, or criminal justice etc. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing advisory services and assistance for programs regarding sexual assault and harassment prevention activities; evaluating programs to identify and resolve sensitive and controversial issues; directing program activities that emphasize prevention of sexual assault and harassment; and interpreting comprehensive policies, programs and practices that reinforces sexual assault and harassment prevention, response and accountability. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
