This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation(CMMI), Executive Operations Staff (EOS).
As a Management Analyst, GS-0343-12, you will perform a variety of analytical assignments to review and evaluate administrative operations and management practices for the purpose of improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Duties
Identify and analyze issues, problems, and challenges facing the organization; formulates and evaluates possible courses of action for resolving them; draws conclusions based on relevant facts; and recommends solutions to management.
Compile data and prepare complex administrative and management reports that are mandated from higher echelons in the organization and/or the Department.
Develop policies, guidelines, instructions, and procedures for administrative and management requirements.
Advise managers and program officials on management policies and procedures including actions to be taken to accomplish work in accordance with established requirements.

In order to qualify for the GS-12, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Advising management on staffing and training development programs to identify areas of improvement and recommend alternative solutions; AND 2) Reviewing training development projects to evaluate their effectiveness in meeting established goals; AND 3) Developing organizational or operational reports on findings, recommendations, or implementation plans for administrative operations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
