This National Guard position is for a MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, Position Description Number D1718000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.
Duties
As a MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, GS-0301-12, you will Directs the overall management of medical support for the Air National Guard installation to include tenant unit(s) and GSU(s). Determines the impact and implements courses of action regarding projected Department of Defense (DoD), National Guard Bureau (NGB), Center for Disease Control (CDC), Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense (OASD), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and Military Support to Civil Authorities (MSCA) that affect Air National Guard plans, directives and missions. Ensures medical capabilities support the federal mission of expeditionary medical operations worldwide and state mission of medical response for homeland security and other state medical missions as directed by the Governor. Problem resolution extends beyond medical management and requires internal synchronization, the coordination of external offices at all base command levels, and the involvement of medical entities outside the base including both civilian and military agencies. Performs duties in accordance with established and evolving polices and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

Requirements
- KANSAS AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications
Military Grades: O1 through O4
Compatible Military Assignments: 041A3, 046N3
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience to provide medical management and advisory services that contribute substantially to the plans, policies, decisions, and objectives of senior management.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level, managing health services activities, including plans and operations, executive management, medical support of expeditionary rapid reaction contingencies and humanitarian missions, education and training. Must have knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring effectiveness of programs, and assigning specific projects in terms of issues, organizations, functions, or work processes to be studied and setting deadlines for completing the work, providing assistance. Must be able to function with a wide degree of latitude, independence of action, and a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness and judgment.
**Attendance of the Medical Readiness Management Course (MRMC) is desired.
