You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Cybersecurity Branch of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.
Duties
You will provide CWF designation guidance/assistance (i.e. IAT vs. IAM and Levels I, II, III), specialty codes and category codes, to individuals and NSWCDD departments.
You will inform individual personnel or provide information to departments in order to advise on required IT related training and how to obtain the necessary training.
You will provide guidance related to keeping the CWF members training current while assisting in the development of IDPs.
You will assist in reviewing, approving, and submitting vouchers to the Navy COOL office for further processing of civilian members' documents or exam attempts or other reviews that are required before an approval can be obtained.
You will research pertinent websites, applicable repositories, and review records to ensure the correct IT information requirements from DCPDS is available in the members TWMS record.
You will work with computers and understand basic computer and IA terminology to ensure the basic principles of confidentiality, integrity and availability, which are core principles in IA/Cybersecurity are maintained.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (INSERT TITLE), proficiency level (INSERT LEVEL) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-9/10 equivalent) pay band or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience planning, analyzing, developing, implementing, maintaining, or enhancing information system security programs to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of secure systems, networks, or data.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: reviewing access logs to report suspicious activity.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: assessing partner requests for application migration and provide recommendations.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing guidance to management, peers and end users.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: monitoring logs and reports to resolve or escalate detected issues.

Education
In lieu of experience, education may be substituted if one or more of the following are met:
- successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
- successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
