You will serve as Protocol Officer for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Keyport, WA (NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA) Command Office and as a member of the Public and Congressional Affairs Team.
Duties
You will plan command visits and events, overseeing itinerary development, briefing arrangements, visitor escorts and follow-on actions for peers, senior-level Department of Defense (DoD) military, civilians, and distinguished visitors.
You will develop draft agendas, briefs, scripts, instructions, guides, supplementary material and pertinent correspondence tailored to specific events or command-level meetings.
You will support the development of white papers, trifolds, story board and other printed materials.
You will be required to apply DoD and Department of Navy (DON) protocol policies and procedures.
You will translate working terminology and concepts into understandable verbiage for the targeted audience using the designated medium which may include the ability to incorporate pictures and/or graphics to help deliver the message.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 pay band (GS-09/10 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying protocol principles, practices and techniques that assist in the development and coordination of policies and functions to execute command programs and official visits (e.g., event planning, escorting distinguished visitors, developing agendas and guides).

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree;
OR
An LL.M. degree in a field directly related to the position being filled.
