Duties
Serving as a Branch Chief GS-0301-14 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is within the Media Support Branch (MSB), Office of Public Affairs (OPA) under the Director's Office (DO) and located in Glynco, Georgia.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct oversight, administration, and supervision of a broad range of complex media and publishing services provided to the FLETC enterprise at all training delivery points, as well as a variety of federal agencies that partner with the FLETC.
Typical duties include:
Manages and coordinates MSB's annual budgetary requirements commensurate with guidance from the Chief, Office of Public Affairs.
Creates and manages the policy, procedure, guidance, and governance supporting the delivery of media services.
Establishes standards and repeatable processes to reduce waste, redundancy, and inefficiency in MSB operations.
Responsible for producing and overseeing still photo and video content archives and ensuring proper information management of all historical
content.
Assists subordinates in establishing tactical goals and objectives aligned to FLETC's and DHS' strategic goals and objectives; inspires and motivates subordinates toward their achievement.
Develops, reviews, and refines policies and procedures, evaluates and adjusts staffing and financial resources, and establishes performance goals for organizational media services.

Qualification's Required:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level developing and applying, concepts, principles, standards, methods, and practices sufficient to evaluate emerging media technologies and their impact on an enterprise/organization.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

Physical Demands:
The work is primarily sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Driving a vehicle may be required. Trips to other elements within the organization are routine and trips to other government agencies or contractor sites may be required. The position works with information processing workstations. Intense concentration and performance of duties at maximum capability is required to meet deadlines. No special physical effort is required.
Work Environment:
The majority of the work is performed in an office setting. The position must be able to make site visits to on-site and off-site locations. The position spends time in private or on public transportation in conjunction with travel to meetings and visits to other government offices or contractor facilities. Working hours are within the typical workday, however major and non- major OPA projects may require overtime or weekend support. The work area involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Temperatures in computer and network communications facilities are controlled to accommodate the hardware and may necessitate exposure to uncomfortable conditions.
