Duties

This Mission Support Specialist (Generalist) applicant will be required to provide a wide variety of mission support, human resources, personnel management, administrative research, and program planning activities. This position starts at a salary of $103,409.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $134,435 (GS-13 Step 10). Major Duties Include: Preparing special briefings and reports for management to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations for future staffing, budget, procurement, and travel operational needs; Generating and maintains various reports and providing updated information to various stakeholders to ensure the timely submission of personnel related actions and resolving complex interrelated human resource problems and issues; Performing budget obligations and overseeing expenditures to ensure allocations, commitments and expenditures are projected and spent accordingly, create requisitions and purchase orders to ensure budget approval; Applying a wide range of concepts, laws, policies, practices and analytical diagnostic methods and techniques to assist with the development and recommend solution to a range of mission support operations and technical issues to evaluate and improve services and processes; and Providing mentoring, training and guidance to peers, colleagues, employees and supervisors.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Performing budget obligations, budget analysis, and overseeing expenditures. Generating and maintaining various reports. Assisting with the development and presentation of briefings and project papers to management. Developing new or modified mission support methods, approaches, or procedures for delivering effective services to customers. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 05/30/2024.
