About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade located at Fort Bliss, TX.
Duties
Prepare correspondence, plans, operation orders (OPORDs), and fragmentary orders (FRAGOs) to support Battalion operations.
Develops and carries out long-range logistics plans and specific projects to accomplish local civilian and military training and development.
Assists in the coordination for theater clearance, theater specific training, and lodging or billeting for augmented personnel.
Receive, review, and consolidate monthly training statistics in unit status reports (USR) for review.
Develops and maintains Emergency Operation Center (EOC) procedures to encompass sustaining current essential operations and collecting information for the commander and senior staff members.
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates contingency and mobilization plans.
Responsible for planning, monitoring, tracking, reporting, and evaluating training requirements for assigned military and civilian personnel.
Provides guidance for incoming exercise personnel and assists in the coordination for theater clearance, theater specific training, and lodging or billeting for augmented personnel.
Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates all classified and unclassified message traffic from higher headquarters.
Requirements
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret security clearance.
- This is a deployable Department of the Army Civilian position. As such, incumbent must pass an initial and annual medical examination and receive/maintain up-to-date required immunization for the overseas or deployed location.
- Temporary duty travel of 50% may be required.
- This is an Emergency Essential position. In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, the incumbent must perform all duties and requirements to ensure the success of combat operations of mobilization or an evacuation order.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
- Incumbent must successfully complete on-line computer based training and residential deployment training, as applicable.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) monitoring, tracking, and reporting training requirements for assigned personnel; 2) reviewing and analyzing contingency and mobilization plans; and 3) monitoring and tracking training requirements and updates in a tasker database; and 4) experience briefing senior-level staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
