You will serve as a Technician in the EOD Technology Assessment Branch (D33) Battle Lab Division (D3) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. The NT-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-11 and GS-12. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.

Duties

You will support scientific and engineering activities: test and evaluation of EOD equipment to conceptualization, write test plans, coordinate assets and resources, field test, data collection and analysis, reporting, and briefing results. You will develop, evaluate, test, and maintain a wide range of specialized and unique laboratory and field test instrumentation and equipment as well as commercial off-the-shelf tools and specialized equipment. You will serve in a test support or test director role as assigned on projects and advises on equipment and EOD procedure technology within an assigned area. You will operate instrumentation and test equipment to support collection of test data.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-9/10 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing technical engineering procedures to conduct demonstrations, assessments, or testing and evaluation of EOD tools and technology for an organization.
