About the Position: Martin Army Community Hospital (MACH) was opened in 1958 and is named in honor of the late Major General Joseph I. MACH, a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Medical Command, furnishes medical care to an eligible patient population in excess of 72,000 beneficiaries. MACH, Building 9250, conveniently located off I-185 and Marne Road. On 20 October 2012, MACH was surveyed and found to meet the requirements for the hospital accreditation program by The Joint Commission.
Duties
Interpret new policy issuances for application to MRB security programs.
Advise MRB Commander concerning all aspects of the security programs.
Develop physical security and crime prevention strategies and programs based on inspection results
Initiate background checks with National Agency Check plus written Inquiries (NACI) for all new contract employees.
Resolve difficult and complex security problems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- Incumbent will be required to attend Operational Security (OPSEC) Level II Training, per AR 530–1.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing inquires for new employees/applicants security clearance levels, safeguarding and protecting hospital personnel, patients, property and resources; protecting restricted medical areas from sabotage, damage, misuse and theft while implementing physical security measures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
