You will serve as a EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).

Duties
You will interpret Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy to support management in EEO related matters.
You will Analyze and process complaints by providing guidance based on regulations and guidance from EEOC, DoD, and DON.
You will conduct inquiries of sensitive and complex complaints of discrimination.
You will prepare detailed counselor reports and when feasible, attempts to resolve complaints at the informal stage.

Requirements

- This position requires the incumbent to serve as an EEO Counselor. To ensure quality counseling throughout the Federal sector.
- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) requires that new EEO Counselors receive a minimum of thirty-two (32) hours of EEO.
- Counselor training prior to assuming counseling duties and receive at least eight (8) hours of continuing EEO counseling training annually.
Qualifications
FOR GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Interpreting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies/procedures, laws or regulations; 2) Processing informal/ formal complaints and ADR requests. 3) Utilizing automated systems to input data related to EEO complaints; and 4) Assisting with creating correspondence and related case documents according to procedures.
FOR GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Interpreting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies/procedures, laws or regulations; 2) Performing counseling and/or advisory services to supervisors and employees; and 3) Gathering and performing analysis of EEO workforce data for reports.
