Job opening: SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST (INSTRUCTOR)

Salary: $73 572 - 114 634 per year

You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist (Instructor) in the Safety Training Division of NAVSAFENVTRNGCTR.

Duties

You will coordinate safety classes and courses. You will provide course objectives, specifications, and plans of instructions for governmental and/or contractor delivery of safety and health training courses. You will determine safety education and training needs, relevant student characteristics, course coverage and objectives, optimum method of delivery, and relationship to courses and curricula pertaining to their specialty areas. You will perform technical review of all Naval Safety School modules/packages/computer based training pertaining to assigned area of expertise. You will advise and counsel safety professionals, managers, executives, and others concerning the need for safety training. You will manage and coordinate safety classes and courses.

Requirements

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following:1) Providing course objectives, specifications and plans of instruction for delivery of safety and health training courses; 2) determining safety education and training needs, optimum method of delivery and relationship to courses and curricula pertaining to areas of specialty; 3) Designing courses and delivering them to safety personnel, facility planners, and technical employees. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following:1) Assisting with plans of instruction for delivery of safety and health training courses; 2) Assisting with the identifying safety education and training needs, optimum method of delivery and relationship to courses and curricula pertaining to areas of specialty; 3) Assisting with the design of safety courses and delivering them to safety personnel, facility planners, and technical employees. Education

There is no education qualifications for the GS-12 level.

GS-11:
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
