This position is part of the Selective Service System, Public and Intergov Affairs, Administrative Division. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising staff, managing projects, improving business processes and increasing the effectiveness of management functions.
Duties
Assists front office and regions with preparation of new initiatives or new or revised processing policies by providing advice, assistance and necessary cost and production data.
Supervises one of more staff positions.
Negotiates important issues involving mission workload reporting, resource utilization and allocation, long- range.
Coordinates production and procedural changes proposed by headquarters, informing of the benefits and disadvantages of such proposals and the implications with respect to interrelated systems and procedures and any conflicts to other Agency mandates.
Qualifications
At the GS-0343-14level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with he competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for his position include serving as a principal project manager for various assigned initiatives; analyzing and evaluating issues related to office operation; contributing to the development of policies; and developing reports for management officials that outline findings and recommend solutions.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at this series/grade level.
