About the Position: Serves as a Combat Development Specialist for the Joint Activities Command at Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Serve as a Combat Development Specialist for the command, in support of capability development efforts.
Supports requirements resourcing through the Planning, Programming, and Budget Execution System (PPBES).
Supports the development of all applicable streamlined (expedited) Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), SOFCIDS directives, coordinates and assists in the development of required program.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a single scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position is subject to perform temporary duty up to 25%.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes preparing formal briefings on areas such as force structure and operational missions; and developing capabilities documentation for mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes Analyzing mission requirements to respond to capability gaps; preparing formal briefings on areas such as force structure and operational missions; and developing capabilities documentation for mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
