This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will ensure effective relations in terms of operations, advice, and assistance on how to prepare and effect personnel actions.. You will provide assistance to HRO Specialists by coordinating or gathering necessary information or data relating to job promotion, detail assignment, and position information. You will prepare annual reports on gain/loss projections, outstanding recruitment actions, and on-board. You will track recurring suspense requirement for submission of evaluations by the annual rating cycle and provides administrative assistance to supervisors and employees. You will review all Personnel Actions for compliance with manpower management procedures and approves forms for processing through higher headquarters.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: ensuring operations, advice, and assistance on preparing personnel actions for manpower resources, assisting with organizational structure and workforce staffing actions, AND analyzing administrative procedures and recommending courses of action to improve the efficiency of an organization. Education

Specialized Experience can be substituted with the following education:
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
  • 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR
  • LL.M., if related
NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
