About the Position: This IT Specialist (INFOSEC/SYSANALYSIS) position is located at U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, Operational Test Command, with a duty location of Fort Cavazos, TX.

Duties

Supports DOD via Army-level operational testing of tactical integrated information technology (IT) support systems. Applies new methods to identify and analyze Information Assurance (IA) vulnerabilities in Department of Defense (DoD)/Army Information Technology (IT) systems. Execute data base management concepts, principles, and methods including data base logical and physical design, storage capacity management and backup recovery. Serves as a command expert on information assurance (IA) and cyber methodologies and processes.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is subject to applicant testing and random drug testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
  • This position is subject to a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 25% or less of the time.
  • A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain certifications per DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2, and as detailed in the Information Assurance (IA) Training and certification best business practice (BBP) within six months of appointment.
  • Incumbent must maintain IT-I personnel security standard as described in AR 25-2. Associated duties are classified to be CND-AU/CSSP-AU, with IAT-II baseline certification.

In addition to meeting the basic educational requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Develop and adapt testing methods to evolving technology vulnerabilities in order to meet security requirements; AND 2) Performing systems studies, such as operational tests, assessments, and/or experiments; AND 3) applying Information Technology (IT) techniques, and procedures, regarding acquisition testing and evaluation; AND 4) Application of cyber security knowledge within an IT setting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
