The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior engineer and technical expert in the development and application of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Program Office (PNT-PO) User Equipment (UE) to include airborne, handheld, embedded, and inertial navigation systems.

Duties

Applies broad engineering knowledge in analyzing and originating solutions to a wide variety of highly controversial or unprecedented aerospace weapon system problems. Leads teams of engineers and other functional participants to address major engineering proposals, issues, and problems. Recommends technical policies to establish and ensure consistency in the application of technical baseline engineering data and processes. Evaluates contractors' technical proposals and provides comments and recommendations as technical expert in assigned area. Performs work associated with engineering for large, highly complex, and critical weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment to include reviewing, interpreting and/or developing engineering policies and determining solutions to the most complex, controversial, and significant issues.

  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually

Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
