Army Materiel Command (AMC) is the Army's primary logistics and sustainment command, responsible for managing the global supply chain and ensuring installation and materiel readiness across the Total Force.

Duties

Prepares and coordinates Joint war planning and publishes USAG contingency plans. Develops plans, procedures, and concept of operations for Military Assistance to Civil Authorities (MACA) and Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) during natural disasters occurring in Alaska. Prepares plans for the emergency employment of Army resources made available for Military Support of Civil Defense (MSCD), and Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) or a terrorist attack by a foreign power. Conducts or participates in conferences/meetings for staff personnel of this headquarters and subordinate commands on policies, doctrine, and regulations to plans for which they are responsible.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position is designated as a "Key Position" in accordance with AR690-11. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency to function effectively.
  • Incumbent may be required to work rotating shifts and/or irregular tour of duty.
  • Duties of this position require the incumbent to have and maintain a valid state (Alaska) Driver's License to operate vehicles.
  • Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing integrated systems to plan and execute joint military operations and develop concept plans.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
