About the Position: The incumbent of this position serves as the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Garrison Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) Transition Services Manager (TSM) at a military installation responsible for managing resources, advising installation tenant units, and marketing the program.
Duties
Serves as the Transition Services Manager (TSM) on an installation to ensure timely and efficient delivery of SFL-TAP services to transitioners, i.e., separating/retiring Soldiers, DA Civilians and their family members.
Plans, directs, and implements components of the installation's SFL-TAP.
Authors SFL-TAP local installation policy guidance that implements Army SFL-TAP policies and procedures for approval by the Director of Human Resources and Deputy to the Garrison Commander.
serves as the primary installation advisor to the Director of Human Resources, Deputy to the Garrison Commander, garrison staff members, and tenant commanders for all SFL-TAP related issues.
Ensures delivery of core services to include: the mandatory Pre-separation Briefing, Employment Assistance and information on how to obtain the DD Form 2586, Verification of Military Experience and Training (VMET) document.

Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes experience managing transition assistance programs that provides various services, such as but not limited to, employment assistance, relocation, benefits, education, for separating or retiring active-duty members. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
