The incumbent will be responsible for leading others related to Management & Administration accounting, financial, and audit related activities within the division. The person will ensure effective processes, procedures, systems, and controls are implemented.

The duties and responsibilities for a Senior Financial Management Analyst generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform consulting to component leadership on critically important learning initiatives necessary for the component to meet its mission within the Department.
Perform research on the utilization of the accounting systems in order to develop instructions to meet the needs of the system users.
Maintain thorough documentation of reconciliation processes and outcomes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit review support requirements.
Provide recommendations for improving internal controls and accounting practices, facilitating enhanced accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
Develop, implement, and monitor the organization's annual budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial objectives.
Ensure preparation and execution of the organizations budget in accordance with OMB, ensuring accurate and timely submission of budgetary data and supporting documentations.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Senior Financial Management Analyst at (GS-0501-13), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: advising, interpreting, and implementing strategies for budgeting, accounting, or financial reporting that involves solutions for financial management.
