About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation.
Duties
Works alongside other artisans, sets the pace, identifies bottlenecks, rectifies solutions, keeps the production moving and/or stops it as appropriate.
Answer worker's questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
Assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position is a Test Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- This position requires a yearly physical IAW 29 CFR 1910.124(h) (4).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain certification IAW CCADR 350-11 on following three methods: Nital Etch Inspector, Brush Plate, and Brush Tagnite within 1 year.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to lead or supervise as anElectroplater Leader without more than normal supervision. The ability to lead or supervise journey level employees who perform common electroplating tasks. Use established processes to plate, coat, and treat metal items; Adjusting solution levels, check solution temperatures, and making routine settings and adjustments to electrolytic and chemical equipment; Preparing parts by standard cleaning methods; Set up and provide proper treatments and processes for the metal parts to be plated. Calculating surface dimensions and applying the results in making routine amperage and voltage adjustments or settings to the electrolytic equipment. Using micrometers, calipers and gages to determine the amount of plating deposited. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Continuous use of both hands, and frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting; however, physical exertion is greater because the parts and equipment handled vary in shape, size, and intricacy and require more extensive handling in pre-plating and post-plating treatment processes. Greater and more frequent effort is also required in preparing and installing a wider variety of handling and holding devices. The grade 9 electroplaters frequently handle objects weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally as much as 80 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside shop areas having adequate light, ventilation, and safety controls. Exposed to acid solutions, solvents, hot waxes, noxious fumes, and a variety of caustic chemicals. Protection from exposure to burns, scalds, and skin irritations often requires the worker to wear uncomfortable safety equipment such as safety glasses, rubber gloves, rubber aprons, goggles, face shields, or respirators. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of this position.
