About the Position: This position is located in G3 (Operations), Office of G3, US Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, AL. This position may be filled at either grade level. If filled at the GS-09 grade level, there is promotion potential to the GS-11.

Duties

Serve as an analyst within an organization with responsibility for performing continuing review, analysis and advice of assigned operating programs Review and perform detailed analysis on various complex reports Make recommendations for improvements where deficiencies exist Apply established precedents and use judgment in interpreting and adapting available guidelines to specific projects or issues Develop a variety of graphic and narrative media Participate in meetings and conferences

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • May be required to travel away from the duty station up to 25% of the time.
  • May be required to complete a one-year probationary period, if not previously completed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-07) or equivalent pay band. OR Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Business Management or Human Resources. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of education and experience. Have specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and have at least one year of graduate education as described above, but less than the required two years. Compute the percentage of the requirements and the total must be 100% (divide total months of qualifying experience by 12; then divide semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) GS-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:1) providing assistance in the development of program planning; 2) gaining working knowledge of functional areas; 3) preparing reports on program progress and making recommendations concerning the modification of program goals, objectives and milestones. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09) or equivalent pay band. OR Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Business Management or Human Resources, (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of education and experience. Have specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and have at least two years of graduate education as described above, but less than the required three years. Compute the percentage of the requirements and the total must be 100% (divide total months of qualifying experience by 12; then divide semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and EvaluatingWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-07 for GS-09 and GS-09 for GS-11).
