You will serve as Expeditionary Exploitation Unit ONE (EXU-1) Activity Security Specialist for the security management program of EXU-1 CIVILIAN PERSONNEL located in Indian Head, Maryland.

Duties

You will provide suitability screening for employment in the federal government where there is routine access to official and classified information. You will assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures for personnel, industrial, information, education, training and awareness security programs. You will review requests for security clearance and special accesses. You will advise command leadership on policies and procedures for the receipt, storage, handling, inventorying, transporting, packaging, and destruction of classified and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) information. You will support the activity security manager in efforts to manage, supervise, control and perform physical security tasks. You will assist with security requirements provided in the ICD 705 for EXU-l's sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs).

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 pay band (GS-9/10 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing support in personnel, industrial, information, physical security, and security education, training, and awareness (SETA) programs to ensure security management. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree;
OR
An LL.M. degree in a field directly related to the position being filled.
