About the Position: Serves as a Police Officer (CLE) engaged in Conservation Law Enforcement duties. Participates in investigations into violations of environmental and fish and game laws.
Duties
Participate in investigations into violations of environmental and fish and game laws.
Responsible for performing duties designed and mandated to provide controlled, safe hunting and boating activities.
Conduct community relation activities, briefings, tours in order to enhance appreciation of the wildlife.
Enforce the jurisdictional limits of restricted areas of both water and land boundaries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Meet and maintain requirements of Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW AR 190-56.
- Pass annual physical agility test requirements.
- Be certified to use police weapons, equipment, cameras, crime scene evidence collecting equipment, and automated police information retrieval systems.
- Obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance.
- Subject to random urinalysis testing IAW Department of the Army guidelines.
- Be able to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other associated equipment.
- Pass pre-employment and annual medical examination (physical, emotional and mental stability, etc).
- Successfully graduate from DA Police Academy or have received equivalent academic credit.
- Be qualified and certified in the use of all assigned weapons and police related equipment which may include chemical aerosol irritants and LESD.
- State certification, if required, for radar and breathalyzer operations.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- The position is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, overtime, weekends and/or holiday work schedules.
- Works in an office and outside with possible exposure to inclement weather.

Specialized experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service specialized experience is further defined as experience in performing a full range of police operations, in preventing and resolving crime including conducting preliminary investigations of incidents, and performing dispatching duties.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
