You will serve as a Management Analyst, with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).
All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties
You will assist in the performance of functions such as: analysis of support plans, programs, and activities; review and evaluation of management requests; development, determination, and interpretation of program policies and practices.
You will perform limited studies or assists higher-graded analysts with full scale studies and carries out assignments designed to develop knowledge of management programs, policies, and methods.
You will research guides to locate program information and prepares summaries for use by higher graded
analysts.
You will prepare preliminary reviews for a few relatively stable programs or program support activities.
You will receive guidance from a senior analyst or supervisor who provides specific instructions on the methods to follow, and the results expected in terms of the form and content of finished reports on analytical studies.

Qualifications
FOR GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Assisting in the performance of functions such as: analysis of support plans, programs and activities. Under the guidance of higher-grade analysts, performs specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with analytical, forecasting and management and control of resources and funds.
FOR GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Conducting management research projects and or studies as directed; applies established criteria and procedures; collects, reviews and interprets data. Assisting in the preparation and presentation of briefings on analytical findings and recommendations. Participating in reviews of activities being considered for organizational structure change or manpower realignments.

Education
GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
GS-09:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
