You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) in the Voyage Repair Team (VRT) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will conduct Quality Assurance (QA) program monitoring and inspection duties, on
assigned Aircraft Platform Interface (API) systems/equipment.
You will verify quality of materials and supplies required to support Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) and Support Equipment (SE) production and prototype activities.
You will maintain records, reports of deficiencies, and prepare technical reports.
You will conduct audits of products and processes for conformance to specifications and to detect processing and technical documentation deficiencies.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing analysis by reviewing sketches, engineering drawings and data, pertinent specifications, and available equipment to identify characteristics critical to product acceptability; 2) Conducting inspections and audits of materials, products, processes, and services for conformance to specifications and requirements; 3) Analyzing data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality or verification program; 4) Preparing technical reports documenting inspections, testing results, or deficiencies and recommending corrective action; and 5) Verifying quality of materials and supplies required to support Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) and Support Equipment (SE).

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
