This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Seamless Care Models Group (SCMG), Division of Seamless Infrastructure (DSI).
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-14, you will serve as a full deputy to the DSI Director, sharing full responsibility and provide leadership, executive direction and technical expertise for implementing assigned programs.
Duties
As Deputy to the Director, shares in the management of the organization’s work. Represents the Director in contacts with federal, state and local government officials, representatives of private health organizations, and or the general public.
Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling the resources required to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective accomplishment of the Division’s functional responsibilities.
Directs and leads technically proficient project teams. When doing so, defines members’ assignments, reviews work for accuracy, and supervises members’ training needs.
Designs, implements, and manages a standardized, cross-model framework supporting a broad portfolio of models and demonstrations that test innovative healthcare payment and delivery approaches
Represents the Director at meetings, on task forces, and working groups, internally and externally, as needed, and assembles and directs teams or task forces for the duration of special assignments or projects.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining cross-cutting infrastructure to support the operations of alternative health care payment and delivery models; AND
Planning and directing the work activities of staff and teams; AND
Engaging with internal and external parties on operational issues related to contracting, compliance and systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
