You will serve as an IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/APPSW) in the CARRIERS SHIP CONTROLS BRANCH CODE 521 in the HM&E SHIP CONTROL SYSTEMS DIVISION within the HM&E CONTROL, NAVIGATION, NETWORKS, & CYBER ENGINEERING DEPT of NSWC PHILA DIV.
Duties
You will serve as lead system integrator and expert focused on complex software, information systems and cybersecurity for ship controls.
You will provide cyber secure system design, installation, and integration and testing support for shipboard ship control and navigation afloat systems and land-based test site assets.
You will coordinate with end users, management and technical personnel to provide specialized technical advice applicable to the project/program development.
You will provide life cycle management (i.e., software design, development, testing, modification, implementation, documentation and support) for new or existing applications software.
You will utilize operating systems software, IT security principles, life cycle management concepts, IT infrastructure and troubleshooting
procedures to plan, install, configure, test, implement and manage various operating system environments.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 62 level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating applications software support and cybersecurity operations to ensure compliance with established information technology policies and procedures for an organization. Additionally, your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
