You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (PASSENGER) in the PASSENGER SERVICE DIVISION of NAVAL AIR TERMINAL.

Duties

You will answer phone calls to provide requested travel information or direct the caller to another department. You will verify travel documents (e.g., airline tickets, car rental, lodging reservations) for accuracy. You will resolve customer concerns, conflicts, or issues to meet client needs.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current commercial driver's license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Quoting fares rates for passenger tickets, and baggage as well as initiating and distributing all preboarding and final passenger manifests; 2) Providing flight information and providing response to passenger inquires face to face or via phone for delayed flights and the routing for space availability of scheduled/unscheduled flights, as well as border clearances and other modes of available transportation; 3) Processing passengers using U.S. Customs and Immigrations inspections processes; inspecting travel documents, and required identification ensuring compliance with foreign travel; and 4) Collecting cash for inflight meals, head taxes and other processing charges, preparing cash collection vouchers and receipt for transfer of cash.
