Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Mission Support Facilities Division, located in either Indianapolis, IN or Euless, TX. Duties

In this position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals serving as the Branch Chief for the Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Mission Support Facilities Division, Program Support Branch, where both the scope and effect of the facilities work have a CBP-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $122,198.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $158,860.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Typical work assignments include: Directing and reviewing Branch program management operations and initiatives to determine correctness and applicability of proposed actions. Providing a full range of supervisory functions for a staff that provides a diverse range of mission support services. Overseeing the efficient and timely coordination of major resiliency actions, deployments, and program deliverables. Setting priorities and schedules for completion and assigning work to direct reports. Making decisions on problems presented by the staff, communicating performance requirements, evaluating work performance, and recommending recognition of employees.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of mission support operations. Providing oversight on work assignments, projects, actionable events, milestones, deadlines, and timeframes in order to meet priorities and/or mission requirements. Monitoring program accomplishments and identifying problem areas. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 07/19/2024. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
